Ukelele Jam

For the last 3 years, Allen Mote has been voluntarily teaching ukulele classes at the Olympia Senior Center. 

The focus is on having fun, learning through playing, building community, and participation, not perfection. 

Mote thinks of the classes as returning the joy, healing, and empowerment of making music to the people, as opposed to mostly listening to performance music. 

The public and all skill levels are welcome. There will be a new Advanced Beginner and Intermediate class starting on April 10. And plan on another Beginning Ukulele class in the fall. 

The ukulele is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play - hundreds of songs can be played with only 3 simple chords. With the side benefits of improving mental, emotional, and physical health as well as delaying aging and mental decline.
