The final weekend of March is going to be gloomy and somewhat wet, a fitting end to a month that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring in Thurston County.
The National Weather Service Office in Seattle forecast calls for showers mainly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, and high near 54 degrees and a southwest wind of 6 to 9 miles per hour (mph). The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
“New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible,” the forecast states.
The overnight low should be around 38 degrees with a west wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable as the evening progresses.
The outlook improves slightly for Sunday, March 30, with mostly cloudy skies, a high near 61 degrees and a west wind of 5 mph. The overnight low should be near 42 degrees with a 90 percent chance of precipitation.
The final day of the month should produce more of the same with showers on Monday, March 31, and high near 51 degrees. There is a 100 percent chance of precipitation.
