Wet weekend ahead for Thurston County

Last-minute Christmas shoppers can expect a wet weekend in Thurston County, with the chance of precipitation at 100 percent on Saturday and Sunday.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for up to one-quarter inch of rain on Saturday, with precipitation mainly before noon. The high should be near 51 degrees with a south wind of 7-9 miles per hour (mph).

There is a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday evening with mostly cloudy conditions. The low should be around 43 degrees with a south, southeast wind of 7 mph.

The outlook for Sunday calls for up to one-half inch of precipitation with rain mainly after 10 a.m. The high should be near 51 degrees with a south, southeast wind of 6-9 mph.

There is a 100 percent chance of precipitation on Sunday evening with up to one-quarter inch possible. The low should be around 43 degrees.

The wet stuff is forecasted to hang around into the early part of next week, including Christmas Eve. There is an 80 percent chance of rain on Monday with a high of 51 degrees and a low around 44 degrees.

Rain remains in the forecast on Tuesday with a high near 50 degrees and low around 41 degrees.
