Wet, windy days ahead in Thurston County

The next couple of days should be wet and windy in Thurston County, with about an inch of rain possible before the latest storm system moves through the region.

The National Weather Service Office in Seattle forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain on Tuesday, March 24, with new precipitation amounts between one-half and three-quarters of an inch possible. 

The daytime high should be near 53 degrees. A south wind of 5 to 10 miles per hour (mph) should increase to 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon, with gusts as high as 32 mph. 

There is a 90 percent chance of precipitation on Tuesday evening, with new rainfall amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch possible. The overnight low should be around 39 degrees.

Rain is also in the forecast on Wednesday, March 25, with between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible. The daytime high should be near 49 degrees. A south, southwest wind of 7 to 13 mph is expected, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Precipitation is also likely on Wednesday evening before 11 p.m., and then a chance of rain and snow. The overnight low should be around 33 degrees.

The outlook brightens as the first full week of spring progresses with mostly clear and sunny skies heading into the weekend. Forecasts are subject to change.
