There are a number of events happening this weekend in Thurston County, including the Native Holiday Market in Olympia.

Feline Friends Holiday Bazaar (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The event has a holiday bazaar with local vendors with great gift ideas and holiday treats. This event benefits Feline Friends, a nonprofit organization that has been serving Thurston and Mason counties for 25 years.

Magic Curtain Mornings - The Snow Bear (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m.-6 a.m.
This new, original story by Olympia Family Theater is an interactive theater experience created especially for little ones and their families. "The Snow Bear" is full of winter magic, laughter, sound cues, and gentle surprises.

Native Holiday market (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Come and enjoy holiday shopping with 50 artists offering handmade jewelry, prints, pottery, carvings, weavings, beadwork and more.

Preserving Family Photos with Washington State Archives (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Dec. 13, 7-9:15 p.m.
Washington State Archives staff will be teaching people how to preserve family scrapbooks and albums, and how to create new ones that will stand the test of time.

Ranger & the 'Re-Arrangers', with Django Bells, A Jazzy Holiday Concert (OLYMPIA)     
Saturday, Dec. 13, 7-9:15 p.m.
Seattle "Gypsy Jazz" band Ranger and the "Re-Arrangers" evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe and the raucous energy of a Romani campsite with their version of Hot Club Swing.

Makers Market (OLYMPIA)
Sunday, Dec. 14, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Shop hand-blown and fused glass ornaments and home decor, pine baskets, hand-crafted "feltis," hand-loomed rugs from Pendleton salvages, unique candles, baked goods, homemade dog treats and more!

Homo for the Holigays (OLYMPIA)
Sunday, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m.
Brought to you by Lucy Elle Balls, this drag extravaganza is sure to be just what Old Saint Nick wanted for all! Come have a ball, tip your favorite performers, and raise funds to benefit Capital City Pride.

    THis is why I love Olympia. It has problems and issues, ranging from the usurious parking meters that do nothing but keep people from shopping downtown, to the homeless problem. But in the grand scheme of things, Olympia is cooool.
