There are a number of events taking place this weekend in Thurston County, including the Thurston County Fair.
Thurston County Fair (LACEY)
July 30-Aug.2, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
With something for everyone, the fair includes animals, entertainment, unique vendors, delicious fair food, beautiful handcrafts and carnival rides.
Barn Bash (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Aug. 1, 6-8 p.m.
Meadows Center for Equine Connection will be holding a community event. There will be live music, food, drinks, meet and greets with the horses, games, arts and crafts, a raffle, tarot readings and more.
Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Aug. 1, 7-10 p.m.
Join the sixth annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash with The Fauxhemians and Return to Dead Grass. This is a free outdoor concert at West Central Park in west Olympia.
Night at the Grand Opera (OLYMPIA)
July 24-Aug. 2, 7:30-9 p.m.
String and Shadow Puppet Theater's "Night at the Grand Opera" is a frenzied romp through a candlelit night at the Opera. Love triangles, converging revolutionary plots, art-loving flies and stilt-walking vermin are brought to life with cardboard and paper-mache.
Possibly//Maybe: A Bjork-Themed Outdoor Circus Shows (OLYMPIA)
Saturday, Aug. 1, from 7 p.m.
Come experience a wonderfully weird circus in collaboration with music from one of the world’s most gloriously inventive musicians! This all-ages show features some of your favorite local aerialists performing their hearts out to songs that will take you on a journey exploring community: what makes it possible, challenging and necessary in trying times.
Form a Line (OLYMPIA)
July 31-Sept. 20, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Childhood's End Gallery presents "Form a Line," a free group exhibition of new work by four distinct Pacific Northwest artists. Finding common ground in bold representation of the natural world, Kathy Anderson, Colleen Cotey, Sara Gettys, and Julia Janeway each bring a practiced sensitivity to their chosen mediums.
