Posted

A woman was arrested on Jan. 17 for an alleged string of thefts at the Target store on Sleater Kinney Road SE.

According to the police report, Lacey Police Department officers responded to a call just after 9 p.m. regarding a “a white female” who was “in the home good section ripping tags off store items.”

Target’s asset protection employee recognized the suspect as a repeat offender responsible for multiple thefts at the store dating back to October 2024.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jenessa A. Tejano, matched the description of a white female in her 30s with brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket, black leggings, and carrying a purse and backpack full of merchandise.

The officer read Tejano her Miranda rights, which she waved. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the seven previous thefts, stating she had gone into the store and "stole shit."

The stolen merchandise from all seven incidents starting from October 2024 to the most recent theft totaled $1,512.91. The report did not detail the specific value of the theft on Jan. 17.

Tejano was transported to Thurston County Jail and booked on charges of second-degree organized retail theft.
