A 38-year-old woman was arrested after she was accused of using a false identification and credit cards not in her name at a hotel.

The Olympia Police Department said in a report the incident occurred on Aug. 30, at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, 900 Capitol Way S.

Staff at the hotel called law enforcement about a guest, later identified as Whitney A. Bilderback, of University Place, was attempting to pay for a room with cards that did not match her name.

Responding officers arrived at the hotel and made contact with the woman, who initially gave them a false identity. After further questioning, police officers were able to confirm her real name.

The report states she had been trying to settle a bill of more than $1,300 for the room. A portion of that amount had already been charged to a card bearing another person’s name.

A search found she was in possession of multiple cards, a forged driver’s license, and a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

“I later tested the suspected methamphetamine, which presumptively tested positive for methamphetamine,” a responding officer stated in the report.

Two animals, a dog and a kitten, were also removed from the hotel room and turned over to Joint Animal Services.

Bilderback was booked into the Thurston County Corrections Facility on several charges, including second-degree theft, identity theft, forgery and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities also noted that other individuals staying in the hotel room fled the area before officers could question them.

I feel badly for the innocent kitten and Dog.

They may lose their lives in a shelter, they did nothing wrong.
