Regarding the construction on I-5 north freeway ramp off Trosper, I cannot figure out why people can’t turn left from Trosper onto the freeway north to Olympia instead of keeping Trosper bottlenecked all the way to Capital Blvd and then have to turn onto Capital Blvd and then back the other way to Trosper again to enter freeway. People were turning left at first before they blocked it off. Maybe there was an incident that caused them to force people to take that more time consuming route? Or maybe they are worried that big trucks can’t make the turn? In which case they could make the trucks stay to the right until they’ve passed the entrance ramp. Can the traffic controllers figure out a better way? This project looks like it will be going on for a while and I’m wondering if this extra hassle may be more of a bureaucratic safety decision rather than a true safety issue. I have no facts or experience to back that up:) There may actually be a very good reason for it. Unfortunately my confidence that common sense has prevailed is fairly weak and I can’t help but wonder whether or not it’s a true safety issue. Ok, I’m sensing some of you commenters chomping at the bit to clobber me with your replies, so I’ll let you get to it! Happy travels everyone!
