Appointment only at Animal Services until repairs are complete on January 31

The lobby at Joint Animal Services for Thurston County will be closed from January 8 to January 31 due to the construction and replacement of dog adoption kennels, the service shared in a public service announcement. The location may be closed to walk-ins during that time and are available by appointment.

Full services are expected to resume on February 1. Check the website for updates on the status of the construction.

During regular operating hours of Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., staff can be reached by phone at 360-352-2510 and email shelter@JointAnimalServices.org. The building is located at 3120 Martin Way East in Olympia. 

Services that will continue normally are:

  • Humane law enforcement calls and complaints
  • Stray pick-up
  • Reclaims of lost pets

Modified services during the adjusted services period:

  • Adoptions will be by appointment
  • Owner surrenders are by appointment
  • Stray drop-off by appointment, “however staff will be available to pick up confined strays,” according to Joint Animal Services.
