Ballots ready, ballot drop boxes open for November 7 general election

Posted

In preparation for the upcoming November 7 General Election, the Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division has mailed out more than 190,000 ballots to registered voters in the county.

Registered voters should watch their mailboxes in the coming days, as ballots should be arriving soon.

If a voter believes they should have received a ballot but hasn't by Wednesday, October 25, reach out to the Auditor’s Office for assistance.

You can contact the office at 360.786.5408 or via email.

Military and overseas voters registered in Thurston County had their ballots mailed out on Friday, September 22, to have ample time to participate in the election.

To further facilitate the voting process, the Auditor’s Office has set up 30 secure ballot drop boxes at various locations throughout the county.

A list of ballot drop box locations and their respective addresses can be found in the mailed ballot materials and online.

As the election day draws near, voters are reminded that ballots must be postmarked by November 7 to be counted.

To avoid any last-minute rush, voters are advised to check their mailbox pickup times to ensure their ballots are postmarked on election day. Postage is not required to mail your ballot.

For those who may miss their mail pickup time or prefer a more hands-on approach, ballot drop boxes will be available until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, on election day.

To offer further convenience and accessibility, the Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Office has been designated as a voting center during business hours, starting from October 18 where voters can register, update their existing registration, obtain a ballot, or use a voting assistance device.
