Two Seattle men were arrested in Tumwater attempting to sell over 30 pounds of methamphetamine last month.
In probable cause documents filed with the Thurston County Superior Court, Hector Diaz Bucio and Kevin Hernandez Solis were willing to sell the 30 pounds of methamphetamine after first negotiating a deal price at a retail business parking lot in Thurston County on April 1 and finalizing the sale at a commercial hotel on April 2.
The Thurston County Narcotics Task Force (TNT), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Thurston County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the investigations and busts after being provided advanced insight into the sale by a confidential source.
The probable cause document alleges that Seattle residents Diaz Bucio and Hernandez Solis went to the parking lot on April 1 and asked for $4,000 per pound of methamphetamine. The final sale price was negotiated down to $2,500 per pound, with a final total of 30 pounds for $75,000, with a street value of $150,000.
On April 2, Diaz Bucio was arrested and admitted to bringing 30 pounds of “ice” to the hotel, but said that he did so alone.
Hernandez Solis, who was arrested with Diaz Bucio, denied selling the methamphetamine. He told officers that he was there to help his friend buy a motorcycle and translate the negotiation of the sale. He was arrested with $1,880 of US currency in his wallet.
The search warrant of the vehicles that Diaz Bucio and Hernandez Solis drove from King County yielded two black gym bags with 30 individual Ziploc bags, each containing a pound of white crystal methamphetamine. The items of the evidence seized were secured in a Thurston County Evidence Facility.
Both men are awaiting trial in Thurston Superior Court without bail, with their trial date set for June 10 at 1:30 p.m.
