An allegedly intoxicated woman was arrested for sideswiping another vehicle, swerving in and out of traffic, and speeding up Harrison Avenue on Mon., July 12 at approximately 10 a.m.

Allyson Rae Lund, 32, of Shelton, was located by Olympia police as her vehicle headed up Harrison Ave.  When police activated the patrol car’s emergency lights, Lund allegedly stopped her vehicle in the intersection of Division and Ascension Ave NW, and “almost ran onto the curb” at the southwest corner of the intersection.

According to the police report, Lund appeared dazed and confused as to why she was being stopped, claiming to be unaware of having been in a collision. Lund first told the officer that she had not been drinking, but was on medication and showed two prescription bottles to OPD which may have caused drowsiness.

OPD observed that Lund’s eyes were bloodshot and watery, her face was flushed and her speech was significantly slurred. As Lund exited the vehicle to conduct a field sobriety test, OPD noted the odor of alcohol coming from her.

Lund provided a voluntary breath sample during her field sobriety test, which registered at .396 on the PBT. The legal limit in the state of Washington is 0.08.

Lund was arrested for driving under the influence. At the Olympia Jail, Lund continued to deny that she had consumed alcohol, then answered the question of how much alcohol with “enough.” Lund then blew a .331 on the Draeger.  Later she reportedly said she had been drinking since noon the day before.

Because the blood alcohol tests provided results exceeding .25, police transported Lund to a local hospital to be evaluated.  Once she was cleared by medical staff Lund was booked into the Olympia Jail.

Four witnesses provided statements to the police about their interactions with the vehicle Lund was allegedly driving.
