After ramming the Ford Festiva he was driving into a tree, an allegedly intoxicated man claiming that he was a member of Antifa fought with officers on Sat., June 19.

Milton Cole Mathis, 29, of Lacey, allegedly created such a forceful crash that his passenger’s head impacted the windshield, cracking a “spider web” fracture into it.” The passenger, Mariah Weiler, 27, of Olympia, was bleeding from the head when Tumwater police arrived on the scene. Both parties appeared intoxicated, according to the police report.

Weiler was transported by Tumwater Fire Dept. to Providence St. Peter Hospital. Weiler would later have a neck brace and leg splint applied.

Mathis attempted to hide from TPD when contacted by lowering himself below the vehicle. Three witnesses on the scene pointed Mathis out to the officers.

Mathis’ eyes were reportedly bloodshot and watery.

When officers attempted to detain Mathis, despite being injured, the suspect allegedly kicked the officer in the knee hard enough to knock the officer off-balance and then allegedly kicked another officer, while swearing and calling them various names.

According to the police report, one of the officers was left with a pronounced limp from the interaction.

The officers reported that Mathis said that he was a “proud member of Antifa” and “hated cops” while calling the officers “f-----g faggots” along with other “foul comments.”

Mathis refused to cooperate with police and take the Draeger breath analyzer test. Accordingly, police arranged for him to have a legal blood test at Multicare Capital Medical Center. According to the police report, Mathis said “it’s just because I have been drinking, bro.”

Mathis was placed in the WRAP restraint device.

Mathis was booked into the Thurston County Jail for obstruction, resisting arrest, two charges of felony assault and driving under the influence.
