An Olympia transgender woman was charged with a felony after allegedly robbing and assaulting another transgender woman.
The suspect, identified by police and charging documents as Robert Allen Beleele, 20, was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery on April 13 by the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney.
Olympia police arrested Beleele on April 9 after a reporting party told dispatchers that she had been robbed.
The relationship between Beleele and the reporting party was not immediately clear from the police report. The reporting party told police, however, that she owed Beleele $60 from her sale of the suspect’s Electronic Benefits Transfer card six months ago.
The reporting party said she was visiting a friend at the Olympia Inn on April 8 when Beleele arrived and demanded the money that she owed her.
The reporting party said the suspect “grabbed me by my backpack straps” and took her around the corner to the rear west side of the establishment.
The reporting party told police that Beleele began to ask her, “Where’s my money?” and ordered her to “Empty your pockets.”
“Then [she] started beating on me, hitting me, grabbing my hair, throwing me on the ground and dragging me across the parking lot ripping my hair out,” the woman said.
Police say that the reporting party said that Beleele demanded her backpack and ultimately stole it along with clothes and journals, a silver chain, headphones, two smartphones, a power bank, and about $18.
On April 9, the woman said she was in the parking lot of the Billy Frank Jr. Place when Beleele showed up again and told her, “Where's my money, you got my money yet? Empty your pockets,” then punched her in the face, causing her nose to bleed.
The woman said she gave Beleele her jacket since her pockets were still empty from her previous encounter with the suspect. She then called law enforcement.
Police noted that the reporting party had a bloody left nostril, a laceration on her forehead, scraped hands and a swollen right eye with bruising on the eyelid.
Authorities later located Beleele at the Olympia Inn. The reporting party positively identified her as the suspect.
Beleele returned the woman’s backpack after asking police if she would be in less trouble if she gave back the reporting party’s belongings.
Police reported, "incident to arrest, [the officer] found .92g of methamphetamine in the purse that Robert was carrying at the time of contact."
Police booked the suspect into the Thurston County Jail for two counts of first-degree robbery.
