Final paving at the Trosper Road at Capitol Boulevard roundabouts next week

Nightly road closures planned, city advises alternate routes

Posted

Final paving work for the Capitol Blvd/Trosper Road project will take place on weeknights, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning June 3 and continuing as follows:

8 p.m. Monday, June 3 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 4

Single-lane portions of Trosper Road, Capitol Boulevard, and 6th Avenue will be closed or restricted to allow crews to grind the joints between old and new pavement. The roads will remain open to traffic while the work is completed.

8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 5

Trosper Road will be closed between I-5 and Capitol Boulevard to allow for final paving of Trosper Road. Motorists will still be able to access northbound I-5 via Lee Street and 6th Avenue.

8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5 to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 6

Capitol Boulevard will be closed between Southgate Center and just north of Ruby Street while crews complete the final paving of Capitol Boulevard through the project area. Linda Street and some business driveways along Capitol Boulevard will be blocked during this night closure, but flaggers will assist motorists to alternate access (see below)

Signed detour routes will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone closures. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes when traveling after 8 p.m. and to use Tumwater Boulevard or Deschutes Parkway/2nd Avenue North to access I-5 while this paving work is underway. The roads will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. each morning.

All scheduled road construction projects are subject to change due to weather, equipment, or project delays.

Visit the Capitol Boulevard Corridor Improvements webpage for more information about the project. Questions? Call the Project Info Line at (360) 754-4186 or email Communications.
