Lacey seeks applicants for Lodging Tax Advisory Committee vacancies

Posted

Lacey is seeking qualified individuals to fill two Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) vacancies.

LTAC’s role is to advise the Lacey City Council on funding strategies for lodging tax revenues, which are generated through a 4% hotel-motel tax imposed on short-term room rentals within the city.

The first vacancy requires applicants to represent businesses responsible for collecting lodging tax. In contrast, the second vacancy is open to community members involved in activities authorized to be funded by lodging tax revenues.

These two vacancies are for a three-year term.

The LTAC consists of five Board members who serve staggered three-year terms.

LTAC recommends funding strategies to the Lacey City Council annually, ensuring responsible allocation of lodging tax revenues to benefit the community.

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications by January 12, 2024, or until the positions are filled.

To apply, please submit an online application on the City of Lacey's official website.

For additional information or inquiries, please contact the City Clerk's office at (360) 491-3214 or via email.

Paying a "lodging tax" is like having to pay to enter through one of those coin-operated bathroom doors. It's detestable.

Gee, Mommy, when I grow up I want to be on the city's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Mom could be so proud.
