Olympia's Indigenous Performance Productions (IPP) is being considered for a $100,000 grant as part of the American Rescue Plan to help keep jobs in the midst of the recession caused by the pandemic.

Such a grant would be "transformative for an organization at our stage," IPP founder Andre Bouchard confirmed to The JOLT

Awarded by National Endowment for the Arts (NEA),  IPP's grant may be used to "fund operations and facilities, health and safety supplies, and marketing and promotional efforts to encourage attendance and participation," according to a statement in the Olympia Arts, Culture and Heritage newsletter.

A nonprofit for performing arts booking and production, IPP plans to use the grant money to "build capacity and deepen the impact of our programming."

"We will be launching a live and online production that honors the stories of Turtle Islands Native Matriarchs, “The Aunties,” the group said in the press release.

NEA's grants total $57,750,000, to be awarded to 567 art groups across the United States.
