A man stopped for speeding was arrested over the weekend after Lacey police found pills in his vehicle.
Lacey Police Department said in a tweet this morning that one officer conducted a routine traffic stop for a driver who was speeding in a vehicle with no license plates.
The man provided false information about himself, but the vehicle identification number of the vehicle led police to the driver’s identity, which was linked to a warrant.
“Suspicious looking pills” were found on the man and in his vehicle, according to police.
“The pills looked like Oxycodone, the officer was aware of counterfeit look-alike pills that are actually laced with Fentanyl; a common cause of drug overdose and death,” Lacey police said.
The officer obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. Police said the search yielded “more pills, methamphetamine, a scale, twofixed blade knives, a pellet gun, and a license plate not belonging to the vehicle.”
The man will face charges for criminal impersonation, possession with intent to deliver, and his existing warrant.
