Olympia Family Theater will open its production of “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” on Friday, October 6.
Based on the popular young adult novel by Rick Riordan, the production features Timberline High School student Chloe Swanson in the lead role, supported by both adult and youth cast members.
“For me, having an intergenerational cast is wonderful,” according to Director Rebecca Rogers. “The youth get to learn from the more experienced actors, and at the same time, the younger actors bring an energy that inspires the older members of the team.”
The play also features an “intergenerational” live band made up of local musicians who will perform the musical’s songs.
Running from October 6 to 29 at the theater, admission fees will be on a sliding scale starting at $5, thanks to the theater’s Access for All Program. Tickets and more information are at the theater’s website.
