Remodeled Tumwater library to fully reopen after six months of limited operations

Posted

After around six months of limited operations since renovations started in December 2024, the Timberland Regional Library in Tumwater will host a grand reopening ceremony on Saturday, June 28.

The library teased the public with a social media post that shows design articles of what appears to be a black clock, a colorful chandelier, a pillowed play area and a checkered carpet.

“Join us for the (ribbon cutting) at 11 a.m., then be one of the first to tour the remodeled and reinvigorated space while partaking in fun activities, tasty treats, and more!” the library’s social media post stated.

The building has undergone remodeling since December 2024, which the library said “will refresh & modernize the library to better serve the needs of the community.”

The library will be closing the TRL Service Center location to transition staff, services and materials back into the Tumwater building.

One of the expected highlights the library has teased is a new children’s area, improved spaces for all, and a refreshed accessible layout.

The library was closed early in January and began to offer limited services to patrons thereafter.
