Second round of free at-home COVID-19 tests available

Posted

In a continuing effort to make COVID-19 testing easily accessible, the Department of Health & Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, in collaboration with the United States Postal Service, provided another opportunity for U.S. households to order additional free at-home COVID-19 tests.

On September 25, every U.S. household had the chance to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests through this partnership.

Last November 20, a second round of ordering opened up, allowing each household to place a second order and receive four more free tests.

Households that still need to place an order can place two orders now, enabling them to receive a total of eight free tests per household.

To order these tests, visit COVID.gov and complete the form with your contact and shipping information.

For individuals who are blind or have low vision, a second round ordering is now available. A more accessible test is the Ellume COVID Home Test with audio step-by-step instructions. For additional information and ordering, go to the Administration for Community Living website.

At home COVID-19 tests are becoming as routinely useful as home pregnancy tests, but the latter aren't free.
