Empowerment 4 Girls Conscious Minds Conscious Bodies Week Long Program, April 3-7
Empowerment 4 Girls provides education for girls and non-binary youth equipping them with tools to help with puberty and personal empowerment. Program days run 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Participants will learn about anatomical terms, pregnancy and STI prevention, puberty changes, gender identity, gender norms and social pressure, sexual orientation, and how to be an ally. Black Box Jazz: Frank Kohl and John Stowell, April 7, from 8 p.m.
John Stowell is an internationally recognized guitarist and clinician, traveling the world teaching and performing. John has performed or recorded with Milt Jackson, Herb Ellis, Larry Coryell, and many many others. LA Times has said of John: “a delightful departure from the road well traveled. He transcends the label of jazz guitarist”. Frank Kohl is based in Seattle and performs nationwide from Jazz Clubs in NYC like Smalls and Mezzrow’s to venues in Seattle like Earshot Jazz Festival and Tulas Jazz Club. Jazz Times has said, “Frank is set to be well recognized for his splendid compositions and artistry. His talent and craftsmanship make him imminently worthy of notoriety”. Community Farm Land Trust Annual Meet-Up, April 8, 1 - 4 p.m.
Head to Mercato Ristorante on Saturday, April 8th and be in community at the Community Farm Land Trust Annual Meet-Up. This is a very casual affair so feel free to just pop in and say hello! We will be renewing memberships and signing up new members to the CFLT community. You can pick up the 2023 Fresh from the Farm Guides for you, your neighbor, your farm, or your businesses. Drop by before or after your market trip and anytime between 12-4pm! The instructor is Wildkind Jess Caldwell, founder of Wildkind Academy. You will receive a Field Notes Plant Ally sheet to take a deep dive into edibility, medicinal uses, and utilitarian function.
