Olympia Police Department (OPD), together with Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) and Lacey Police Department (LPD), successfully arrested a robbery suspect who had stolen a car in the early evening of January 26, TCSO reported on their social media post.

The incident started when OPD officers responded to a reported car robbery.

A TCSO deputy located the stolen vehicle in North Olympia and attempted to initiate a routine traffic stop. However, the driver refused to comply, prompting a pursuit.

Sheriff Derek Sanders authorized a precision immobilization technique (PIT), and LPD successfully spiked the suspect's vehicle twice during the chase.

A TCSO deputy executed a successful PIT maneuver, forcing the stolen vehicle to stop before re-entering the city.

The suspect then fled on foot, starting a foot chase with authorities that ended with her capture. During the arrest, the suspect kicked a male TCSO deputy in the groin.

Olympia PD has one in custody for robbery and auto theft, and TCSO will be filing additional charges for felony assault on a law enforcement officer,” TCSO reported.
