Some road work this week might delay traffic

TUMWATER ––To complete repairs, multiple roads in the city will be closed from Monday, July 13 to July 17, 2020. On Monday night, July 13 Boston Street SW was closed from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday, and Custer Way from Boston Street to Cleveland Avenue will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. 

The construction work will continue Tuesday night from 8:30 p.m to 4 a.m Wednesday on Custer Way from Boston Street to Cleveland Avenue. Workers will pave and install new roadway striping and street signs along Custer Way. Drivers need to use different routes. Cones and detour signs will be in place throughout the work zone. 

On completion, traffic control and flaggers will be on-site to assist drivers and pedestrians through the work zone. In addition, Old Highway 99 from 73rd Avenue to Henderson Boulevard and Capitol Boulevard from X Street to Israel Road will be reduced to a single lane of alternating one-way traffic.
