Help OlyEcosystems protect young trees at Cooper Crest!, Saturday, Feb. 22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
In the winter following Cooper Crest’s devastating clearcut in 2022, the community came together in an incredible effort — hauling truckloads of weeds and planting 2,500 cedar saplings. Now, it’s time for these baby trees to “graduate” to larger metal cages, and the team needs your help! The New Life Baptist Church in Lacey is celebrating and commemorating the month of February as Black History Month. The community is invited to visit this unique collection of exhibits, displays, books, artifacts and archival information to enhance their knowledge and education about the tremendous contributions of Black people to American history. Ukelele Jam, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2-4 p.m.
For the last three years, Allen Mote has been voluntarily teaching ukulele classes at the Olympia Senior Center. The public and all skill levels are welcome. Joie de Vivre - Olympia Chamber Orchestra Concert, Sunday, Feb. 23, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
